Meet Monon
Monon is a clinical psychologist who has experience working across a range of different clinical presentations such as anxiety, depression, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), binge eating, bulimia nervosa and relationship difficulties. She enjoys working with adolescent (15+) and adults across their lifespan and takes a special interest in working with women’s mental health and with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) populations.
Monon likes to work with clients in a warm, humorous and collaborative manner and strongly believes in providing a safe and secure space for them to explore and grow from life’s challenges. She takes an evidence-based approach to psychological intervention and primarily works within cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) frameworks. These approaches empower clients to develop a greater understanding of their thoughts, feelings and actions, their impacts, and encourage the development of new and valued ways of responding.
Monon completed her Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra (UC). Prior to joining the Think team, Monon worked at the UC student-led psychology clinic, in acute medical settings at the Canberra Hospital and in public mental health at headspace Queanbeyan. Prior to this she has experience working in public health and not-for-profit mental health services including the Mental Health Foundation ACT. She is currently also working at Canberra Medicare Mental Health Centre (managed by Think Mental Health) delivering individual therapy and group therapy to consumers.
