Meet Michelle

Michelle is a registered Psychologist with over 25 years of experience treating a broad range of mental health issues utilising treatment approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).

Her primary areas of experience include anxiety and panic disorders, depression, stress, chronic pain, adjustment to illness and injury (including cancer and terminal illness), women’s health and mental health and parenting issues. She also has an interest in working with older adults, including those with complex physical and mental health issues and later life planning.

Michelle has a strong interest in providing trauma-focused therapy for clients with acute and complex trauma presentations, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), utilising EMDR and trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy to provide a safe, trauma-focused environment. She has a particular interest in working with Defence, ex-defence clients (DVA) and first responders as well as clients who have sustained psychological injury within the workplace.

Michelle graduated with dual master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Canberra and University of Wollongong. Through her career she has worked as a psychologist and coordinator of Pain Management at Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, as a workplace rehabilitation consultant and in several private practices in Brisbane and Canberra.
