Meet Katharine

Katie is a provisional psychologist undertaking her final placement of the Clinical Psychology (PhD) program at the Australian National University (ANU). During her training, Katie has provided evidence-based intervention at the ANU Psychology Clinic and Canberra Health Services, delivering individual and group-based therapy.

Katie’s approach to therapy is collaborative, strengths-based and focused on working together to achieve her client’s goals. She has experience working with clients across the lifespan including children, adolescents and adults. Katie works within an evidence-based therapeutic approach informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and has a developing interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Katie has experience working with a range of clinical presentations including mood disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress), eating disorders and body image concerns, emotion dysregulation, procrastination and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Katie is conducting her PhD research in the area of eating disorders. She is investigating how considering mental wellbeing and positive psychology approaches—in addition to eating disorder symptoms—can expand our understanding and improve treatment of eating disorders.

Katie is available for appointments on Monday and Tuesdays from 22 July 2024. Fees are significantly lower for provisional psychologist sessions. If you are interested, please contact the practice.
