Meet Joanna

Jo is a clinical registrar who is passionate about connecting with clients from a person-centred perspective. She has experience treating a range of mental health issues, including anxiety disorders, depression, stress, substance use, disordered eating, neurological conditions, and trauma-related difficulties. Jo has special interests in neurodiversity, trauma, and providing culturally responsive care.

Jo brings a range of life and professional work experience to her practice and enjoys working with all people across the lifespan. She works from attachment and relational perspectives and provides evidence-based treatment within the frameworks of acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).

She completed the Master of Clinical Psychology at the University of Canberra while working in the public service. Jo is also completing her PhD at the Australian National University where her research is focused on addressing gaps in gambling harm support through co-designing culturally responsive interventions for affected others in Australian communities.
